Padmasambhava, the Lotus-born Indian mystic and tantric master, is second only to Buddha Shakyamuni as the most famous figure in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. In the ninth century, he journeyed across the Himalayan Mountains to establish Buddhism for the people of Tibet.
